How to be a more interesting blogger – Part 3

Adding to the previous article, this is the third and last part. Read carefully, and apply, for you just might learn how to do something new!

  • If you are an authority on a particular topic, use it to your advantage. For instance, make a ludicrous prediction. If you have a decent enough following, you are bound to stir things up between them, and this ‘prediction’ will surely be talked about for days, even if it isn’t true.
  • Some bloggers try to be too informative, neat and tidy, which will put the readers to sleep. With your blog posts, try and do something a little creative. This might be perceived as being ‘dorky’, but in reality, it works.
  • Part of being a blogger is that you will be hated by one group, and loved by the other. If you can’t deal with this, you might as well flush your computer down the toilet. You have to be daring enough to do something bold once in awhile, even if it does mean that you will come under scrutiny and create controversy, because this will definitely get you a lot of attention.
  • One thing that’ll get you tonnes of attention (but is very hard to accomplish) is if you refute something that is common knowledge or a fact. Obviously, you will need substantial evidence, but if you do manage to have a breakthrough at some point, your ‘discovery’ will be talked about for a long time.
  • Do not concentrate on quantity instead of quality. Put your heart and soul into each post, and you will be appreciated more as a blog post writer. There’ll be plenty more subscribers, and people will continue to admire your work even after your post has been taken off the front page.
  • Learn how to use metaphors well, as these really catch readers’ eyes and minds. They are the key to letting your readers understand exactly what you are trying to say.
  • Talk to the readers through a story, and they will find it more interesting to read your blog posts. But of course, the story should not be your average run of the mill one about how you managed to win first place in the 100-meter dash. Let it be about something real which the readers may be able to relate to.
  • Define your readers by telling they exactly who they are. People are forever trying to find that out anyway, so if you can place your hands on this particular problem and solve it, not only will your readers thank you for it, but you will also gain popularity.

The above points, along with the first two parts can make a really good difference in your being a blog writer. Put them into practice, and you will probably see some great results. If you don’t start to see them, have patience, for they will surely help you out in some way or the other.

Bloggers are forever trying to get ahead in the ‘rat race’, and readers are constantly looking for fresh content with loads of spunk. Using this combination, will definitely make you a more interesting blogger, getting you plenty of attention.
