Initial Steps to Market Your Blog

So, you too have a new blog! Welcome to this enormous blogsphere, full of opportunities and rewards. But how will you let the world know about you and your blog? Do not worry! Marketing a new blog is just as easy as it could get, provided you follow these steps sincerely and patiently.

First Day, Zero Reader – Don’t Panic:

It is almost impossible to start attracting readers, right from the first day a blog is born. This is, however, in case you are fresh to blogging and do not have an online reputation as yet. Initially, you may send across the blog link to your friends and colleagues, making them aware of your new activity, but remember they may not be your target audience.

It is obvious that anyone who owns a blog would like to make it known to as many people as possible and create a stong brand in the market. Though this process takes a long time, you can start building a powerful foundation by establishing networks with other bloggers or websites.

Study, Plan and Implement:

Create a list of items that you want to achieve through your blog. Accordingly, study the market trends, your target audience and reader behavior to plan the blog posts and implement them with great force.

Once the topics for the posts are decided, generate at least 5 to 10 informative and well-written articles in a systematic format. For reader convenience, categorize the posts appropriately and link your content wherever necessary. This will create a positive impression in the reader’s mind right from the first moment.

In case you wish to reveal your identity and brand yourself along with the blog, see to it that the blog title includes your name. Also, enable users to access your contact information.

Promote Heavily:

Garnering traffic is not an easy task. It requires constant promotion and marketing efforts. However, this doesn’t mean you have to pay your way to meet your promotional objectives. When would social media sites be used then? The popularity of social networking sites has cracked the roof-top to such an extent that you do not have to shell out even a penny to reach your target audience.

Secondly, leaving your comments on other blogs will help expand your network with other bloggers, which will further produce positive word-of-mouth-spreading and create community cohesion.

The Result: Increased traffic to your blog!
