Facebook Refuses to Comply with Big Music Companies Order to Remove Project Playlist

A few days ago, MySpace removed all signs of its ‘Project Playlist’ song gadget from the MySpace website. Now, the people who used this service can no longer install any more lists. The decision to completely eliminate the playlists was due to violation notices by big well-known music companies. These popular companies are all in dispute with MySpace’s ‘Project Playlist.’

As per sources, these big music companies have sent Facebook a notice insisting that it must get rid of its playlists. Facebook has about 660,000 people who have playlists taken from Project Playlist. However, according to these sources, Facebook has said that it will not consent to their wishes.

Both Facebook as well as Project Playlist are not willing to make any statements. However, sources in the music industry are of the opinion that Facebook’s defiance over this issue is ‘irresponsible’. These sources also believe that an indictment will be imminent unless Facebook gets rid of the application and gadgets.

Facebook may not have realised the extent of the problem they could face due to this issue. These big companies are not fooling around. They are extremely angry with Project Playlist, who they feel have been delaying a music licensing contract since months, and have now reached their limit.
