Indian Politics

The era of merging politics with technology has finally begun. Unlike an unfortunate Telecom Minister, Kapil Sibal, who wishes toIndian politics neglect productivity by threatening search engine giant, Google, for permitting content of an objectionable nature against the Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi  has tied up with the search engine giants to lend its apps services.

Our very own youth icon and party general secretary, Rahul Gandhi of the Indian Youth Congress is doing so in order to help himself and his party leaders to stay in touch with their people. This will definitely score crucial brownie points for the Congress Party as they can be in constant communication with their members. One of the smartest decisions in political history.

DNA reported The National President of The Youth Congress, Rajeev Satav stating that, “Technology is a great enabler in bringing people together and operating efficiently, we’re excited about being the first organisation in India to adopt the latest cloud technology from Google. With the complete solution, we will be better equipped to work with the youth and leverage the power of technology to conduct programmes of local relevance.”

Pradeep Agarwal, head of Google Enterprise, in his attempt to explain how technology was aiding the workings of the party, stated that, “It was a low cost solutions to replace communication gadgets like fax, telephone and other paraphernalia.”

Managing Director of Google APAC, Doug Farber, on Tuesday expressed his joy by stating that, “ Working with the Youth Congress was a fantastic experience.”

Rahul Gandhi has been personally involved with the formation of this project. Though all the Congress members and the IT company has been “mum” about the expenses involved, Doug Faber said that, “The whole vision was to provide a transparent and democratic participation and empower the Congress members to work for local development in India, using technology.”

The main aim of this entire action is to make communication between the party leaders and Rahul Gandhi possible even from remote areas in the country. All that is needed is access to the internet.

As promising as this sounds, we all hope that this plan works out for the betterment of the country as a whole.
