7 Sins a Writer Should Avoid

Writers seldom look upon the aspects that act as barriers in great writing. That is one of the main reasons why their growth towards excellence is stunted. The following points should give you a head start as to what a writer must stay aloof from in order to write great article pieces.

1.    Procrastination – Waiting for a suitable time for writing to arrive is not recommended. It only leads to lack of concentration and disinterest.
2.    Aiming for Excellence – No one on the planet is perfect. Do not aim at writing the best article as it does not happen. Focus on your thoughts and the technique of framing them creatively into phrases. The rest will follow suit.
3.   Editing while Writing – A writer can never achieve brilliance if he constantly edits his sentences or words. This tends to break the constant flow of writing.
4.    Clichés – Writers must try and avoid frequented sentences and words. They tend to get monotonous and strike boredom into the mind of the reader. This also leads to a standard pattern of writing.
5.    Over-punctuation – When a reader views a marathon of punctuated words and sentences, it becomes taxing to differentiate between important words and sentences. Such an article becomes too ‘loud’ overall.
6.    Random Writing – Make sure your article has comprises of a beginning, a body and an end. Each of them must address certain issues. This creates a smooth flow in the article as every bit of information follows in sync. Random sentences create an impression of uncertainty in the mind of the reader.
7.    Instant Success – Every writer goes through a lag phase or downfalls. Do not be dismayed and let that over power your zeal to write good articles. Practise time and again and rectify your past errors.

These points will aid you in avoiding slip-ups in writing.
