It Hurts
Words that are said cannot be inhaled back again.
Sometimes we say things without realizing the repercussions they can potentially have in the future. Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, but to what extent? Emotions are delicate and an outrageous statement could turn things sour in no time. As the saying goes, ‘always think before you talk’. Why should it be any different for writers or bloggers?
Yes, so you have a blog. Doesn’t mean you can tread along and obliviously pen
down words without a second thought. Hello! There are readers with feelings that read your blog or post. Throwing a volley of harsh statements could have detrimental effects and could be a little too late to remedy in time.
Readers are after all, individuals with sentiments. Blogging about issues that are case-sensitive must be pondered upon deeply before writing. Put forth your perspectives and views on any topic you’d like to discuss about. But let it not go extreme with cynically-savvy comments. There is a fine line between writing down your thoughts and making people understand what you feel.
Say what you want to, after constructing it well that is. Our minds are treacherous things, if we let them be. Have a conscience that supersedes your core emotions. Lay it down in a manner that it is light on the minds of your readers. After all, they have their take on it as well. And needless to say, you would not want your reader chart to witness a downfall.
Choice – that is what a writer or blogger should make before typing a key on a keyboard.
Very well written. I really like your style. However, I share a contradictory opinion about your article. I love it when bloggers pen down wht’s on their mind. Irrespective if they seem rude or down right obnoxious. It is their thoughts and there is nothing I love more than hearing about peoples opinions especially if they are the opposite of mine. I love hearing about the different perspectives people have about stuff.
That being said, there is a line that should not be crossed while tackling sensitive topics.
Hi Andrea. Thanks for your perspective. The purpose of this article was to throw light upon the last line in your comment. Opinions always have doors open. Hope you visit again.
