Writing an effective hard copy is not a cakewalk, but by following certain golden rules, you can achieve success. You just need to know what works.
Defining the goal: It is very important to define your message even before youbegin writing. What do want your message to be? Do you want it to generate inquiriesor get orders? Also decide what the action call for the readers should be. Put a goal inperspective and unveil it in your message. Your writing should evolve around the goal and everything else can be eliminated.
Know your target audience: Know who your target group is. Know the potential buyer. Cater to all the needs of your customer and write a niche copy for them. Give your writing a personal touch as if you are writing for an individual and not for a group. It is believed by many advertisers that appealing to a niche target group will boost your sales.
Appeal emotionally to the readers: Tell the customers all about the product and how the product will benefit them. In fact empathize with their problems. “We know education is expensive. Thus to give your child the best tutorial services in an affordable way….” Make them feel that they need the product.
Simplify everything: Make your copy understandable and easy for your readers. Shorten it and keep it precise.
Keep a single focus: Too many cooks spoil the broth. Do not have too many ideas in your ad copy. Focus on the major idea.
Visual ads: Your ad copy can be very effective if it has a visual appeal. Support it with really good and apt images and make sure that the images also convey the message to the users.Remember, a poorly written copy will drive the customers away. The advertisers always break all the rules. So even though you can follow these tips to derive an effective ad copy, there is no formula for getting it perfect.
